Mojang today announced a huge update to its popular Minecraft Pocket Edition app for iPhone and iPad. Windows 10 Build 20215 A new feature included in today’s build is Windows 10 Search supports the dark theme. “For Insiders who have their system theme set to dark, we are introducing dark theme search results for the Windows 10 search experience on the taskbar. This server-side change is rolling out to all Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel. Also unveiled at the event was the Surface Pro 7, Surface Pro X, an AirPods competitor. But Microsoft also had a surprise up its sleeve, it unveiled an all-new foldable tablet and foldable smartphone that it plans to launch in 2020....

Microsoft Retiring Internet Explorer 11 Next Year In a blog post today, Microsoft exec Sean Lyndersay notes the following: It’s worth noting that this doesn’t affect Windows 10 customers on the Long-Term Servicing Channel (LTSC). But consumer version will see an end to the support of IE 11. The so-called “IE Mode” supports older ActiveX controls and legacy sites, which some businesses actually use. Microsoft promises to support IE Mode in Edge at least through 2029....

Microsoft has decided to wind back a new-ish security restriction in Office that was heralded a “game changer” for the cybersecurity industry because it would block a favorite – and effective – technique used by crooks to distribute phishing and malware threats in email. Since April, Microsoft has blocked by default VBA macros obtained from the internet in Office apps on devices running Windows. The in-scope apps included Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Word....

Microsoft is rolling out the new mute button for Teams notifications while on calls in February. But this month it rolled out a new shortcut to help users quickly unmute themselves after muting themselves to avoid inflicting others with their unwanted background noise. The new unmute shortcut requires holding down the Ctrl+Space keys on Windows or Option+Space keys on macOS. To go back to muted mode, users simply release the keys....
