Update: A reader just sent the images above that show Apple’s maps are identical to Microsoft’s for certain locations. Evidence surfaced yesterday that showed Apple was crediting TomTom, in addition to OpenStreetMap, for at least some of the data used in its new in-house Maps app. Today, a report from TechPP (via TheNextWeb) pointed to proof that Apple’s Maps data appears to come from Microsoft too: We have not been able to confirm the evidence, so we are marking this as unconfirmed for now....

Windows 10 Insider Build 20175 Today’s new build includes new features like improved pinned sites in Microsoft Edge. Microsoft’s Brandon LeBlanc explains: “Clicking a pinned site on the Taskbar will now show you all of the open tabs for that site across any of your Microsoft Edge windows, just like you’d expect for any app with multiple open windows.” In addition, there are new icons for Sticky Notes and the Snip & Sketch app via updates from the Microsoft Store....

Cyanogen Inc.’s CEO, Kirk McMaster, has revealed to IB Times that their team is working with Microsoft to deeply integrate Cortana into the next version of Cyanogen OS. Microsoft had entered into a strategic partnership with Cyanogen Inc. back in April this year. Coratana is Microsoft’s own digital personal assistant that is available across all its new products and services, including Windows 10, upcoming Windows 10 Phone, and Xbox. The company also has plans to bring Cortana to Android and iOS, with the first beta of the digital assistant making its way to Android last month....

Update: Microsoft has now announced the Microsoft Band, a $199 fitness band that does everything described below. It goes on sale Thursday. During Microsoft’s Connect 2015 event today live from New York, the company announced it is open-sourcing its Visual Studio Code program for developers and in the process bringing its Visual Studio Emulator for Android to Mac users.
