With this guide in hand, though, you’ll never miss another rare egg again. Whether you need to identify your eggs or simply locate the missing monsters in your Monsterpedia, you’re sure to find what you seek here.

All Monster Hunter Stories Egg Patterns and Locations

Before diving into this 235-egg basket, there are a few things to note about finding and hatching eggs.

First of all, there are 3 types of Monster Dens:

Normal Dens give average eggs. Golden Dens cough up rare eggs of better average quality. Red Dens provide high-rank eggs.

You can find a Fixed Monster Den by throwing 3 paintballs at the monster you want before the battle is over – and hopefully, that monster will lead you back to their nest.

You’ll also want to pay attention to Navirou, who comments on the Monster Den’s atmosphere when you enter the nest as an indicator of what type of egg you’ll probably find.

If it feels normal to him, then you’re likely to only get average monsters. If he feels good about it, then you’re a bit more likely to get higher quality eggs. If he thinks it’s dangerous, however, the egg quality is directly influenced by how strong the monster guarding the nest is.

When you pick up an egg, Navirou comments on both its weight and its smell.

Lighter eggs have less available gene slots, while heavier eggs have more. Eggs that don’t smell have poor gene skills, while smelly eggs have better genes, and nice smelling eggs have the best genes.

If you get lucky, your monster will hatch from its egg with a golden background, indicating that it was born with great gene patterns.

If you keep these tips in mind while hunting for eggs in Monster Hunter Stories, you’re bound to get more than a few good Monsties out of it. The rest of this guide is simple: each monster listed here has information on its most common habitat location and an illustration of its egg patterns. Hatching them all has never been easier.
