How to Get and Use Blackstone in Minecraft

Regular Blackstone

Regular blackstone can be found in the new basalt deltas biome in the nether. Unlike crying obsidian, which requires a diamond pickaxe or netherite pickaxe to harvest, you can harvest blackstone using a simple wooden pickaxe.

You can also find blocks of regular blackstone inside bastion remnant structures.

Regular blackstone can be used for crafting the following items:

 

Polished Blackstone

Polished blackstone is slightly harder than regular blackstone, and it looks, well, polished and smooth when you craft it.

You need 4x blackstone for crafting one block of polished blackstone. You can also craft chiseled polished blackstone (which has lines chiseled in it) using 2x blackstone slabs.

Polished blackstone can be used for crafting the following items: 

 

Gilded Blackstone

Unlike regular and polished blackstone, gilded blackstone is not available for neither crafting or smelting.

The only way you can obtain gilded blackstone is to mine it at bastion remnant structures. When mined with a pickaxe, it drops gold nuggets. 

It’s important to know that mining gilded blackstone my agg piglins, so be on the lookout and keep your guard up while mining.
