15. Primitive Tools

Check Out This Mod If you’re looking to get the edge on your fellow Minecraft cavemen, then Primitive Tools is the mod for you. This adds a range of Stone Age-style flint-based tools and weapons to the game, which replaces vanilla Minecraft’s wood and stone tool sets. Some of the tools you get are flint-tipped knives, rock hammers, hatchets, hoes, picks, and spades, as well as a wooden club and a flint-tipped spear.

14. Prehistoric Dinosaur Biomes

Check Out This Mod Prehistoric Dinosaur Biomes is a mod that allows you to build your own time machine. Cool, right? When created, the machine will take you back to the Prehistoric Realm – a land of murky water and hazy skies, filled with dinosaurs and other more bizarre creatures such as giant dragonflies. If you’re looking for adventure then be sure to check this one out.

13. Jurassicraft

Check Out This Mod Jurassicraft is a mod which gives you the chance to build your own Jurassic Park-style dinosaur park. Not only does it include a multiple dinosaurs and plants, but it also includes the DNA and machines you need to bring them back to life through the power of science. And the mod also includes a range of dino park-themed decorations, usable vehicles and dinosaur skeletons you can build from fossils you find. Sadly, the most recent versions of this mod are now available only to Patreon subscribers… however the July 2019 version is still available for download for free.

12. Prehistoric Eclipse

Check Out This Mod Prehistoric Eclipse is a mod that creates a dinosaur realm populated with 16 new mobs:

Dakotaraptor Monolosphosaurus Plesiosaurus Velociraptor Dunkleosteus Sea Scorpion Protoceratops Arthropleura Saurichthys Titanoceratops Tyrannosaurus Rex Tupandactylus Dragonfly Allosaurus Onchopristises Sauroposeidon

Baby dinosaurs can be tamed with a bone, but many of the adult dinosaurs will be more hostile. So be cautious when approaching! Although this mod hasn’t been updated for some time, it’s still worth downloading due to the high level of effort that clearly went into the modelling of the creatures. So if you’ve got Minecraft running on a version to match, give it a try!

11. MineJurassic

Check Out This Mod MineJurassic is another mod loosely based off of Jurassic Park. In this case you hunt down fossils, extract samples of dino DNA, and then use it to bring extinct species back to life. The mod gives you access to over 30 different real life dinosaurs, but it also uniquely also gives you the chance to combine different DNA to create your own hybrid dinosaurs, such as the Spinoraptor and the Stegoceratops. Very cool. The mod may inspire comparisons with Jurassicraft, but it earns a higher place on this list for the simple reason that the mod is still being actively updated and distributed for free.

10. Prehistoric Fauna

Check Out This Mod Here’s something a little different to grab your attention: Prehistoric Fauna is a time travel mod that gives you the opportunity to travel back in time to the age of the dinosaurs. Each have their own unique geological formations – all intended to be scientifically accurate to the actual time period. The mod also features 21 species of extinct animals, including the ancient ancestors of dinosaurs and mammals in in the Triassic, to their enormous Cretaceous descendants. Plus it adds seven unique trees too, along with 12 unique plants to really enhance the feel of these awesome new realms.

9. Modzoic

Check Out This Mod Modzoic is a rather small mod that’s certainly worth trying out. You’ll get such classics as the Gorgosauruses, Nanuqsauruses, Centrosauruses, Brachyceratops, Didelphodons, Parksosauruses, and yes, even that old charmer Ugrunaaluk. Pteranodons, which fly fast and attack on sight. And the Tyrannosaurus Rex, which can use its enormous size to chase down and catch its prey. 5. PaleoCraft Mod

Check Out This Mod Paleocraft Mod is a dinosaur mod which, according to its description, “strives to make its dinosaurs as scientifically accurate as possible”. The mod adds a range of dinosaur species of different sizes, ranging from enormous to bird-sized, which can be spawned-in or visited in a separate dinosaur-filled realm (which is also added when you install this mod). Each dinosaur has its own species-specific personality, too. From the timid Citipati which flees if attacked, to the more assertive Baryonyx, which will attack if players get too close. And there’s even the Dromaeosaurus, which hunts in packs, but can be tamed if approached with care.

4. Yanny’s Stone Age

Check Out This Mod Now that you’ve modded in all these dinosaurs, maybe it’s time to let your inner Fred Flintstone out? Yanny’s Stone Age aims to give you the authentic stone age experience, all in Minecraft. It radically overhauls the way you craft, hunt, and gather resources. Craft tools from antlers and bone, mill flour, tan hides into leather. The mod also adds a number of new prehistoric animals to hunt or hide from – including the woolly mammoth, saber-toothed tigers, and the woolly rhino (who know that was a thing?) Not to mention it also adds the ancestors of vanilla Minecraft livestock such as boars, auroch, fowl and mouflon(basically rams), which you can domesticate if you choose to.

3. Prehistoric Flora

Check Out This Mod It’s all well and good reviving dinosaurs. But to really complete the scene, you need some prehistoric plants for them to stomp through. Prehistoric Flora does just that: giving you a selection of verdant greenery spanning across millions of years, covering the Precambrian, Cambrian, Ordovician, Silurian, Devonian, and the Carboniferous periods. The mod also has a large number of beautifully modeled and animated era-appropriate mobs to populate the world. Not to mention this bad boy is even compatible with the Fossils and Archaeology Revival mod, which leads us to…

2. Fossils and Archeology Revival

Check Out This Mod Have you ever wanted to run your own version of Jurassic Park? Well to put it bluntly, this Minecraft mod lets you do just that. Unearth fossilized bones, extract their DNA, and use it to revive and tame around 50 different prehistoric or extinct creatures such as dinosaurs, including flying and swimming types, as well as mammoths, smilodons, terror birds, and dodos. Ah, those crazy dodos. However, if you’re more interested in becoming an archaeologist à la Indiana Jones, the mod also gives you the chance to unearth a range of ancient artifacts and explore ancient temples. And yes, it even includes a whip.

1. Jurassic World Reborn
